Artist Statement
I have always had an innate curiosity about constructing forms from clay. The inspiration for my passion comes from a feeling of extracting a "living" creature from an amorphous blob.
My sculpting process and drive comes, in part, from my experiences as a rock climber. In both sculpting and climbing one must devise a plan, negotiate challenges and disasters en route, all in pursuit of the final exhilaration of achievement - even if the accomplishment is simply what I learned throughout the journey.
